High school Psychology groups connect across borders!

Written by: Harriet Ennis and Erja Väisänen

On 4th September, 2025, psychology teachers Harriet Ennis from York, England, and Erja Väisänen from Oulu, Finland, linked up their classes in a live virtual meeting via Google Meet — overcoming the challenge of coordinating across busy schedules and time zones. The meeting brought together two high school psychology educators and their students. In this encounter, Harriet was teaching a small group of fewer than ten students in the UK, while Erja was leading a larger group of 32 in Finland.

Although technical issues limited deeper communication during this first meeting, the exchange still highlighted the shared enthusiasm for psychology education and the potential for future collaboration.

This initial contact marks a promising beginning for international cooperation between high school psychology educators in the UK and Finland. With smoother connections next time, the dialogue is hopefully going to deepen and grow. We warmly encourage others to explore ways of bringing international collaboration into psychology teaching, and to share their experiences.
